Notes for Fall 2010

1. All Games will be played according to little league rules related to the proper age bracket.
2. All Games are played at Phelps Lane in North Babylon.
3. Inclement Weather-Please check the top right of this BLOG GAMES INFORMATION on questionable weather days. Something will be posted by 4:00 pm Friday and 8:30 am on Saturday regarding the weather.
4. Rainouts We can try to make-up rainouts, but we cannot promise because of field or umpire availability. Our goal is that each team will play a minimum of 8 games.
5. No Games on Columbus Day Weekend & October 31st (Halloween).
6. Please try to give a call to Anthony Grillo about 1-2 weeks notice of a game that you can't play.

We are going to Post on this Blog Games on a week by week basis and make up games only.

Rules

Rules:
I originally said we are following district 34 rules but that was not totally correct. Below are some clarifications.

8 Year Olds - No Bunting and No Stealing. 4 Walks in an inning and than the coach can finish the inning

9 & 10 Year Olds - There is bunting and Stealing (both unlimited per inning) - But there is no stealing/advancing of home on anything past the catcher.

11 & 12 Year Olds - There is bunting and stealing (both unlimited) - There is stealing/advancing of home.

Please remember - If the two managers AGREE and you want to modify the rules for that game, I have no problem with that. Just let the umpire know. For example: If a 10 year old team wants to play anything past the catcher is a live ball and both managers agree than you can play those rules.

My goal for fall season is that kids will learn something and have a good time. To me, It is the most beautiful time of year to play baseball.

Also, Pitch rules should be followed. I do not track pitches and we do not fill out pitch cards. We do it on the buddy system.

Fall 2010 Information

Fall Baseball Program North Babylon's Fall Baseball Program is intended for all baseball players/teams to participate in a fun, safe and learning environment.

New This Year - we will offer teams the choice to participate in either a competitive or non-competitive program.

10 Game SeasonBegins September 17th and Ends on November 7th(No Games on Columbus Day Weekend or Halloween)All Games will be played at Phelps Lane Park in North Babylon on Friday nights, Saturday days/nights and Sundays.

The price covers Umpires Fees, Fields and Game Balls. Level of Play & Team Fees:
8 Year Olds (Farms) - $550.00
9-10 Year Olds (Minors) -$550.00
11-12 Year Olds (Majors) -$550.00
